Terms of engagement

Last updated 23 September 2026

1. Who we are

Hobeich Legal is a corporate and commercial practice in Beirut. Gracia Hobeich, a lawyer licensed by the Beirut Bar Association, runs it. We form companies, amend them, keep them in good standing, and draft the contracts around them.

2. This website is not advice

Everything on this site, including the reference guides, is general information. It is not legal or tax advice. Reading it creates no lawyer-client relationship. That relationship begins only when we have both signed an engagement letter.

3. How to engage us

Write and describe what you are trying to do. We reply within one business day. If we take the work, we send an engagement letter setting out the scope and the fee. Nothing begins until you sign it. No payment is taken on this website. There is no form to fill in.

4. Fees

Fees are quoted in writing before any work starts. They are fixed for the scope in the engagement letter. Government charges, notarial fees and translation are set by third parties. They are passed through at cost with the receipts and can change mid-process. Where a figure appears on this site, it is indicative and dated, not an offer.

5. The fixed-price sites

Four company formation services are sold at a fixed price on separate sites: lebaneseoffshore.com, lebanesesarl.com, lebanesesal.com and lebaneseholding.com. Taktek, LLC operates those sites. It is a software company, not a law firm. We perform the legal work on them under our own engagement letter with you, exactly as we would here. What you buy there is governed by that site's own terms, not by these.

6. What we do not promise

Timelines are estimates drawn from ordinary registry practice, not guarantees. No one can guarantee a bank will open an account for a given company. Registry and notarial practice varies and changes. We are not liable for delay caused by a public authority, a bank, or by documents reaching us late or wrongly signed.

7. Your obligations

Give us accurate and complete information. Tell us promptly when it changes. Return documents signed as instructed: wet ink, blue pen, the number of originals we ask for. Documents signed in the wrong colour or the wrong place are rejected by the registry and cost you time. Where you sign from outside Lebanon, obtain a power of attorney legalised at a Lebanese consulate.

8. Confidentiality

What you tell us is covered by the professional confidentiality a lawyer owes a client. It survives the engagement ending.

9. If we decline

We may decline an engagement, including where a conflict exists, where the activity is one we do not act in, or where identity and source of funds checks cannot be satisfied. If we decline, anything you have paid for work not yet done is returned.

10. The guides

The reference guides state Lebanese company law as we understand it at the date shown on each page. They are written and reviewed by Gracia Hobeich and published free. The law changes and registry practice changes with it. A guide is a starting point and not a substitute for advice on your own facts.

11. Governing law

These terms and any engagement under them are governed by Lebanese law. The courts of Beirut have jurisdiction over any dispute. Nothing here limits a right you have under a law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
